Anyone who’s known me for more than 5 minutes knows I am a self-confessed travel addict with an insatiable curiosity for the world we live in. My husband sometimes says if there’s a train leaving for hell I’d probably get on it.
I was raised as an AirForce brat in the era of the Leyland Brothers – so I blame my parents ! Seriously though, I had a great childhood exploring many nooks and crannies around Australia. Perhaps a few too many schools but lots of great memories.
Now, with a family of my own, I felt it important to expose my kids not just to the amazing country we live in but also to the fascinating countries and cultures around the world. Luckily I have married a man who tends to agree with me.
As a family we have explored many places together and there have been lots of special moments. I’ve traveled with my husband, with friends, or extended family and even on my own, and I don’t see the pace slowing up any time soon.
I’ve visited 46 countries & have actively been in travel groups and communities for a long time picking up tips and tricks and sharing tales along the way. Hopefully this will be a way to pass on some of that knowledge and perhaps gain a bit more.
There are squillions of travel blogs written by beautiful young things around the globe but few seem to cater to the needs and interests of people with a bit of grey hair and perhaps a few hot flushes. So, after many years of hearing ” you should start a travel ” blog – here it is…..
thanks so much for your support, Sandy
