Tray Tables away

travel tips and tales for mature travellers

I’m a 50 year old wife and mother of 3, born in Canberra but have lived in Brisbane for 25 years. I work part time as a HR Project Specialist in Finance and am also a qualified Interior Designer, which comes in handy for real estate projects and my husband’s construction business.

Anyone who’s known me for more than 10 minutes knows I am a self-confessed travel addict with an insatiable curiosity for the world we live in. My husband sometimes says if there’s a train leaving for hell  I’d probably get on it.

I was raised as an AirForce brat in the era of the Leyland Brothers – so I blame my parents ! Seriously though I had a great childhood exploring many nooks and crannies around Australia. Perhaps a few too many school but lots of great memories.

Now, with a family of my own, I felt it important to expose my kids not just to the amazing country we live in but to the fascinating countries and cultures around the world, and luckily I seem to have married a man who tends to agree with me. As a family we have explored so many places and had some truly wonderful experiences and I have also been lucky enough to have had special moments travelling just with my husband, with friends or exended family and even on my own, and I dont see the pace slowing up any time soon.

There are squillions of  travel blogs written by beautiful young things around the globe but very few seem to cater to the needs and interests of people with a bit of grey hair and perhaps a few hot flushes, so after many years of hearing ” you should start a travel ” blog – here it is…..

thanks so much  for your support, Sandy
